Overview

Supervise spa therapists/technicians and ensure the highest level of guest service quality in treatment delivery. Provide services, as appropriate and qualified (i.e., body treatments, skin care and/or massage treatments), ensure staffing levels are optimal to control labor, maximize revenue opportunity and fill in for staff as needed. Ensure all spa equipment is maintained. Ensure all professional products are properly inventoried and ordered. Recommend new treatments and spa services, and assist in their implementation. Must have excellent communications, problem solving skills, and maintain a high level of customer service standards. Scheduling dependability and flexibility is a must.

Responsibilities

1. Serves as first point of contact for therapists/technicians needs/concerns, and communicates with director.

 

2. Train treatment providers, manage room scheduling, book balancing, hands-on training, and monthly meetings.

 

3. Serve as “Designated Establishment Manager” per FL. Health Dept. guidelines, stay abreast of all massage legislation and statutory changes to ensure self, therapists and business are compliant with state licensing.

 

4. Know cosmetology and/or massage state board and company safety and sanitary regulations and ensure service providers are compliant by inspecting sanitation log books, work areas for cleanliness, organization and that items are stocked and rooms shut down properly.

 

5. Ensure spa treatment areas and dispensary are stocked and organized through daily inspection, and report any equipment or facility needs to spa supervisor and/or director.

 

6. Assist in creating and managing a training program and operating manual for spa treatment providers to ensure consistent service to all guests.

 

7. Maintain product use control through supervision of spa services, by pre-measuring products and maintaining monthly professional inventory. Prepare suggested monthly supply and equipment orders.

 

8. Facilitate and ensure smooth working relations between spa receptionist team and treatment providers so the highest quality of guest service is delivered.

 

9. Be available to guests and treatment providers who have specific questions or concerns; Communicate all questions and/or concerns to the Spa Director or Supervisor.

 

10. Perform body treatments, massages, and facials or nail care as applicable per license.

 

11. Promote all treatment services and products, serving as an example through service enhancement and retail recommendations and sales performance.

 

12. Propose and assist in implementation and staffing of special promotional events and seasonal treatments.

 

13. Work with director/supervisor to ensure side work is complete and down times are utilized efficiently.

 

14. Assist director with interviewing, training, counseling, goal setting and performance reviews for therapists/technicians.

 

15. Complete weekly therapist schedules and assist with time edits.

 

16. Understand, Train and abide by the Heavenly Spa by Westin, Westin and HEI standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, bend and perform duties required for specific modalitties
  • Ability to stand and move throughout spa and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
  • Should have knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Must possess at least 500 hours of hands on massage experience. Additional esthetician or nail technician licenses desired. 
  • Must provide reputable school certification
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Must have an active and clear license to perform massage and body treatments and ideally, a secondary license in skincare and/or nail treatments in Florida. One year’s supervisory experience and three or more years’ experience as a service provider, or five years’ experience as a dual therapist are require
