Overview

Oversee the efficient operation of the pre -arrival process for guests by managing inventory, adhereing to Marriott brand standards for Group Rerservations and utilimately expediating the check-in process.  

Responsibilities

  • Room Management Control includes but is not limited to:
    • OOO Room
    • Off Market Room
    • Show Rooms
    • Room Type Balancing
    • Clearing Inventory
    • Coordination with Housekeeping on status of rooms
    • Monitor and analyze Rooms Inventory utilizing Yield Management to maximize occupancy and increase average rate. This includes monitoring of group blocks, determining cut off dates, and rate restrictions. 
  • VIP and Amenity Coordination
    • Team/VIP Group Blocking
    • In house reservations for business transient clients
    • Amenity Coordination with F&B, Culinary and Front Office team.
    • Process and handle group rooming lists, reservations, by inputting data into the reservations system. 
  • Reporting
    • Calculate and prepare rooms reports to determine sources of business using various computer systems. 
    • Assist the Front Office Director in the development and revisions of forecasts for the Rooms Department, both monthly and annually. 
  • Billing
    • Assure that all billing is processed accurately timely with all 3rd party i.e. Airlines, Teams, 3rd Party, TravelZoo, Expedia, Package credits, Bonvoy Rewards, etc.
  • Other duties include but not limited to
    • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear status updates to guests and staff.  
    • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. 
    • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, and college degree preferred. 
  • Hotel experience required
  • Marriott FSPMS is a definite plus.
  • Very organizaed and detail oriented.
  • Remains calm under pressure or meeting deadlines
  • Must work on weekends
  • Ability to effectively adress guest concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. 
  • Ability to access, read and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system to include software such as Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations 
  • Must have analytical ability to assess reservation trends and make related decisions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
